Georg Fuhlendorf (1910 - 4 November 1947) was one of the first supporters of fairytale chess in Germany. In the early 1930s he did some research into the early history of the helpmate and published several articles on the subject, which can be read in detail in the book Early Helpmates (Aachen 2000) by Ebert/Gruber.
