Johannes Döttl (* February 28, 1888 in Hallein; † August 26, 1958 in Hallein) was mayor of the city of Hallein.

Life
He grew up as the son of a miner's family from Dürrnberg. He attended elementary school in Hallein. He then attended grammar school in the city of Salzburg until 1908. He then studied at the Faculty of Philosophy in Vienna, but was forced to discontinue his studies due to the outbreak of World War I. After the war, he became a bank employee at banks in Vienna and eventually joined the Hallein Savings Bank as a senior accountant in 1931. During World War II, Döttl served as a major. He spoke perfect Russian.

In 1946, he was elected to the Hallein municipal council, where he served as financial officer. After the death of Mayor Rudolf Winkler, Döttl became mayor in 1951, a position he held until his death.

During his term in office, the generous new construction of the boys' secondary school, the Hallein Salzbergbahn railway, and many residential buildings were completed. He laid the foundation for the construction of a middle school and contributed significantly to the construction of a new office building for the Hallein District Administration. He particularly promoted efforts to beautify the city, as well as the expansion of the city museum, the city library, and the city fire department.

Johannes-Döttl-Straße in Hallein is named after him.
