Chess composer

He composed chess studies. 

Of German origin, a retired fisherman who in his youth had a romantic life as a searcher for pearls in gold mines in Australia
and worked as a merchant in the islands of the South Seas.

He published his studies in the magazines "Austral", "Chess Amateur" and "British Chess Magazine".
