Luigi Bühler (* 3 September 1921 in Winterthur; † 20 September 2004) was a Swiss chess composer.

Chess composition
Bühler composed mainly more mover pieces. In 1969, a 30-move piece by him was even published in the Swiss chess magazine. He took 11th place in the 1st WCC tournament from 1972 to 1975.

Party chess
Bühler became a member of the Geneva Chess Club around 1941. He moved to Lucerne in 1946 and played actively in the chess club there. Here he won a simultaneous game against Korchnoi.

Luigi's life
Luigi grew up in Winterthur and Ticino. He married his wife Jacqueline in 1949 and they had a son (1951) and a daughter (1954). After his retirement, he lived in Ticino. In the years before his death, he was plagued by health problems.
