Nikolai Antonovich Kopaev (Russia, 1914-1978)

Chess player and chess composer of endgame studies

  Strong chess player, Russian theoretician and composer of the city of Voronezh, who work as a railway technician.
He achieved the title of Master of Sport in chess in 1940 and obtained outstanding performance in local tournaments.
Author of outstanding works for the chess theory, especially in the analysis of the end of rooks and pawns,
perhaps this modality has influenced his style of this composer,
contributing to that the chess studies that he composed are often more analytical than artistic.
Two of his works (one of them in collaboration), were published in the album of the FIDE.
