Georgs Bisenieks was a Latvian politician and diplomat. Member of the Latvian Social Democratic Working party (LSDSP). Latvian Ambassador to the United Kingdom (1921–1924). Latvian Consul in Leningrad (1933–1934), Director of the Latvian Mortgage Bank (1935–1940).

Born on December 19, 1885 in Kroņvircava parish, that time part of Russian Empire. Studied at Jelgava Real School, joined an illegal Social Democratic organization in 1902.

After the 1905 revolution, he was arrested several times, and in 1907 was sentenced to two years and eight months in hard labor. He served his sentence in Riga Central Prison, then in a settlement in Irkutsk Province.

In 1911, he fled to Belgium and from 1913 lived in England, where he organized the transport of illegal literature to Latvia. He also worked as a clerk (1914) and a cooperative manager (1915).

At the beginning of World War I, he was the political secretary of the Communist Club founded by Karl Marx in London.

In 1916, he was a member of the board of the Russian Seamen's Union and a member of the editorial board of the newspaper "Morjak" ("Sailor"), worked as a civil servant (1917) and a carpenter (1918).

From December 1918, he was the head of the Latvian Embassy in London, participated in the negotiations of the Latvian Provisional Government's Foreign Minister Z. A. Meierovics on the de iure recognition of the Latvian state (1920–1921). He was the first Latvian ambassador to England (1921–1924).

After the death of his half-brother Jānis Bisenieks (1864–1923), he decided to return to Latvia.

In 1924 - 1933 he was the chairman of the board of the Latvian Farmers' Economic Society, worked at the Latvian Private Bank, the Latvian Flax Central, and JSC Daugava. Chairman of the board of the Society Piektais gads.

In October 1933 he was appointed Latvian consul in Leningrad. His wife Lotty Honey was said to have been good friends with the Latvian Milda Draule, the wife of Sergei Kirov's murderer Leonid Nikolayev.

Therefore, in the first indictment drawn up on December 25, the Latvian consul Bisenieks was mentioned as one of the culprits - he was said to have been a liaison between the Leningrad group that organized Kirov's murder and the actual planner of this assassination, Lev Trotsky, who had been expelled from the Soviet Union.

On December 31, G. Bisenieks was also expelled from the Soviet Union.

From 1935 he was the director and member of the board of the Mortgage Bank.

After the occupation of Latvia on October 3, 1940, he was arrested and after interrogation in February 1941 was transferred to the NKVD prison in Moscow. Accused of "being the Latvian consul in Leningrad, being involved in the murder of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (b) and the Secretary of the Leningrad Regional Committee S. Kirov in December 1934; an English spy".

On July 7, 1941, he was sentenced to death, which was executed on July 27, 1941.
