At least two people have been killed and one wounded in the Belgian town of Verviers in what is being described as an anti-terrorism operation, state-run RTBF and other media are reporting.

Witnesses told RTBF that explosions were heard near the town's station area.

A news conference is scheduled for 8 p.m. local time (2 p.m. EST).

The operation comes the same day Belgian police arrested a man accused of selling weapons to Amedy Coulibaly, who was killed by police after he attacked a Paris kosher shop last week.
