RCMP Assistant Commissioner Rhonda Blackmore said the dead and injured were found in 13 locations on the James Smith Cree Nation and in the village of Weldon, a community of about 200 people northeast of Saskatoon.

As they revealed the scope of the tragedy, police said they were looking for a pair of men — Damien Sanderson, 31, and Myles Sanderson, 30 — who were considered armed and dangerous. Authorities said they believed the men were likely in Regina.
