AMIKAM (in Latvia VARHAVTIG) HERTZEL ZALMANOVITCH, 1917 or 1918, Ludza. In 1939 illegally emigrated to Palestine. In 1940 was arrested by British Government, escaped from prison. Took part in "Lehi" underground organization struggle for independence. After proclamation of State of Israel was secretary of Israeli Embassy in USSR. His brother was deported to Siberia by Soviet Authorities.
