Konrad Erlinger (* Sunday 10.02.1856  -  †  Sunday 31.12.1944)

Austrian chess composer, né Erlinger, pseudonym D. Nirle who published 1600 chess problems in three or more moves in old German style (orthodox chess problems) which 250 works by him were honored.

He was also a precursor of the Bohemian school.

"Konrad Erlinger published chess problems under the pseudonym of Konrad Erlin. He was a prolific chess composer, a lover of model mates and of sacrifices of white pieces, and a precursor of the Bohemian school."

"The Austrian chess composer Konrad Erlinger (10.02.1856 - 31.12.1944) omitted the last three letters of his name (which is why they do not appear here in bold). He was one of the most important representatives of the old Viennese school, whose often overloaded, ponderous positions no longer quite correspond to today's taste. His three-move move shown here is a good example of the Viennese school, which focussed entirely on mate purity, but does not achieve the elegance of the Bohemian school. "
