František Dedrle (* 13 October 1878 in Tišnov; † 28 May 1957 in Brno) was a Czech chess composer and chess player.

Life 

Dedrle worked as a teacher in various schools in Brno and was most recently headmaster.

Chess composing

František Dedrle was also an endgame theorist of chess. In 1919 he published a work on the theory of critical squares. His systematic analyses of the endgame queen against two bishops and queen against two knights are well known.

Dedrle mainly composed three-moves problems and chess studies.
