Johan Jacob van den Ende (Nisse, * 06.08.1902 -  † 09.07.2002)


Chess player and chess composer of endgame studies.

He composed about 140 chess studies.

He was born at Nisse near Goes in Netherland.

After his work as a candidate notary from 1926 to 1932 in Enschede, he returned to the province

of Zeeland, and was appointed notary in Zierikzee in 1934.

He was in chess, champion of Zeeland six times.

When he became a study editor in 1933, this stimulated composing in the Netherlands.

He has been active as a composer more than sixty years, a unique feat in the Netherlands.
