Peder Andreas Larsen (Denmark, 1.4.1869 - 28.4.1946)

Chess composer

Peder Andreas Larsen was born in Asker on Bornholm. He educated himself as a lecturer in mathematics, and practiced his education mainly in Rønne, Bornholm.   He and his wife, Petra Elisabeth Koefoed, had six children, including the later named problematic K.A.K. Larsen. In addition to supporting these many children, he also got time for several different things in his life, thus in 1899 he published a collection of mathematical assignments titled "365 Geometric Tasks," and in 1911 "Arithmetic Beginners Tasks for Middle School". He debuted as a task composer in "Illustrated Family Journal" in 1886, and since composing him between 200-300 high-quality assignments - he is one of the few Danes who have been involved in final game studies. Also in this field he was an outstanding composer. He was honored to call a patriotic "Larsen theme".   Even the study expert Jens Enevoldsen has used P.A. Larsen's final play studies in his magnificent book "Hyg Dem med Skak" from 1966.
