Godfrey Heathcote (20-07-1870 - 24-04-1952) British chess composer

Godfrey Heathcote composed about 500 direct mates problems with natural and economical positions. He may have been the best British problemist of the beginning of the 20th century. Many of his problems were compiled in A.C. White Christmas Series "Chess Idylls" (1918), which can be read and downloaded from here. He was also the president of the British Chess Problem Society (BCPS) from 1951 to 1952.
