Josef Křivohlávek (13-09-1919 - 17-03-2015) Czech chess composer
The Czech composer Josef Křivohlávek (13.9.1919-17.3.2015) came into contact with Ilya Mikan in the 1930s and later also with Vladimir Pachman and Emil Palkoska, which led him to problem chess. In 1953 he began to compose - almost exclusively three-move pieces. After a 10-year break, during which he played bridge intensively, he returned to composition around 1972. At the end of the 1980s he published a selection of his problems published between 1953 and 1988.
The author composed chess problems well into old age; at the age of 95, he published another selection of his chess problems in 2014.
