Oskar Walter Henneberger (* 19 May 1883 in Ennenda; † 15 January 1969 in Zurich) was a Swiss chess player.

Chess                                                                                                                                                                                         Walter Henneberger was the younger brother of Moriz Henneberger. He became sole Swiss champion in 1904 and 1912 and shared the title in 1906, 1911 and 1914. He composed a number of chess tasks, mainly during his active period. In 1916 he won against Emanuel Lasker at his simultaneous presentation in Zurich.

Henneberger made rather few international appearances. In 1928, he took part in the FIDE World Amateur Championship, but finished in 16th and last place with 3 out of 15 points.

In the first half of the 1930s he won once each against Ossip Bernstein and Aaron Nimzowitsch.
