Alfred Olaf Karlström (14-03-1907 - 03-06-1967) Norwegian chess composer
Alfred Olaf Karlström was a twomover specialist but he nonetheless composed in all genres.
The Norwegian chess composer Alfred O. Karlström (14.3.1907-3.6.1967) died half a century ago. He became famous for the further development of the Fleck theme named after him (clear differentiation of multiple threats). In the Karlström-Fleck, the Fleck parries are joined by an equal number of total parries, each of which is followed by a new mate instead of one of the threats; this is also shown in his prize-winner from 1947.
