Rudolf Queck (18-11-1910 - 27-04-2003) German chess composer

Rudolf Queck composed direct mate, helpmate and fairy chess problems.
He wrote the booklet "36 Gitterschachaufgaben" in 1989.

Die Schwalbe reports in Issue 246, December 2010:

"The master brickmaker from Zwickau, who left the GDR in 1958 so as not to be banned from speaking, came to problem chess at the age of 20, which fascinated him throughout his life. In 1989, he compiled a small publication entitled 36 Grid Chess Problems from his 230 or so compositions and made it clear in the foreword, in his likeable and frank manner, that he was looking forward to holding a printed work of his own making in his hands one day."
