Armin Tobias Schmieder from South Tyrol had a fatal accident while base jumping with a wingsuit in Switzerland on Friday morning. 

According to initial findings by the Bern cantonal police, the 28-year-old from Merano had travelled alone to the "Alpschelehubel" to jump from there with his wingsuit. Shortly after the jump, he got into difficulties for unknown reasons and fell to the ground.

The young man broadcast the flight live on the social network Facebook. "You're flying with me today. But you only hear something. I'll put you in. Ciao. Before putting his mobile phone in his pocket and jumping.

Friends and family were able to listen to the jump live until there was silence after a scream.

Armin Tobias Schmieder is survived by two daughters. Amely and Amie. As well as his parents Albert and Maria and his brothers Stefan, Michael and Kurt.
