Austrian chess player

One youngster in particular stood out from this youth group - Gerhard TRINKL. The 14-year-old was able to win the Tyrolean blitz chess individual championships for the "big boys" straight away and also immediately played in the SK Schwaz regional league team. 

In 1981, the greatest chess talent of the Schwaz Chess Club, indeed of all chess in Tyrol, passed away.
The insidious illness from which Gerhard Trinkl suffered could not be cured despite desperate attempts by everyone - the Schwaz Chess Club even enabled him to travel to the Philippines to see the miracle healers.
