Francisco Armengol Burgues (* Saturday 07.04.1894   -  † Wednesday 12.01.1977)

Spanish chess composer,  Barcelona (7/4/1894 - 12/1/1977)

He was editor of the chess column of the newspapers L'Opinió and La Nau . He collaborated on the specialised magazine Els Escacs a Catalunya , on El Mundo Deportivo and also on the FCdE Bulletins . He was also editor of the Diari de Sabadell , where he wrote his articles under the pseudonym Rubek. His writings were always of great sobriety and excellent quality and were characterised by a strong sense of construction, justice and harmony. In any case, all their efforts were aimed at cheering on the fans, as was the case with the match between Rey and Casas for the Spanish championship at the Ateneu Barcelonès .
