Felix Gruber (* May 18, 1840 in Hallein; † January 11, 1884 in Hallein) was a Salzburg musician and composer.
Life
Felix Gruber became Kapellmeister of the Hallein Citizens' Corps Band in 1860. After the death of his father, Conrad Franz Xaver, composer of the Christmas carol "Silent Night! Holy Night!", he became choirmaster of the Hallein Parish Church in 1863. After the death of his brother Franz, he became choirmaster of the Hallein Liedertafel in 1871. He held all of these positions until his death and left behind numerous arrangements and compositions.
Felix Gruber was married to Maria, née Schmalnauer, and was the father of Franz Xaver and Felix.
