Dancer and choir singer Lucia Nadia Cipriani was born on February 27, 1955, in Villa Bianca and spent the first six years of her life in the northern part of Rome, at Via Eustachio Manfredi No. 17 (Parioli district), in a large family of 13 children. After graduating from high school in Italy, she found a new home in Austria in 1975. She initially worked as a waitress at the Roter Adler in Innsbruck. In 1978, she used her first earnings to travel to Paris for a month, then to Caen for a month, and another month to Nancy and the Loire. In 1979, she moved to Salzburg, where she initially worked in the restaurant industry. From 1980 to 1981, she spent a year in Southend-on-Sea and attended John Lennon's funeral on the coast. In July 1991, she completed her training as a nursing assistant in Salzburg with distinction. She met her partner Peter Siegfried Krug in May 1987 at Nußdorferstraße 17 in Salzburg, in the Riedenburg district, where they were living together in a shared apartment. They (Cipriani, Krug) have lived together continuously since 1987 (Essergasse 8, Siezenheim (Brückenstraße 55, Salzburg Plainstraße 27/8 and Hallein (historic town centre). Since July 2016, she has been living with Peter Krug in Hallein, where she is very active as a choir singer in the Halleiner Liedertafel, ProVobis and other choirs. Lucia Nadia speaks five languages.

Her beginnings in oriental dance

Lucia Nadia Cipriani became interested in colorful oriental dance before 2000. The AAI (Afro-Asian Institute) in Salzburg offered dance classes, which she eagerly attended. Further stages in her training were the “Nadea” dance studio at Glockengasse 4c and Studio 13. 

Debut at the Domani restaurant

Right from the start, she practiced daily at home and made great progress, so much so that the then chef Reza Tavakoli from Trattoria Domani at Kaigasse 33 offered her a job dancing at his restaurant. Nadia combined her dance expression of joie de vivre with her own choreography. Despite stage fright, her first performance was a huge success and spurred Nadia to devote herself more intensively to dance. Shortly afterwards, she received her second performance offer at the OssI (Turkish restaurant) during the Linzergassenfest. She had already collected a lot of dance music on CDs and chose new, lively music for each of her performances. She combined movements she had learned in classes with her own distinctive and expansive choreography.

ARGEKultur at Salzburg's largest cultural center

Every year, the Talk Together association held a refugee festival at ARGEKultur. Cultural organizers Beate Wernegger and Abdullahi Osman included it in their program. Their performance of Paul Dinletir's song “Icequeen” was a resounding success on the multicultural scene. Nadia Cipriani thus became an annual fixture at the refugee festival.

25 years of performances

Her most important venues were the Kulturgelände Nonntal at the refugee festival and the cultural center “ABZ - Haus der Möglichkeiten” in Itzling.

Private: Living together

 Lucia Cipriani and Peter Krug met in May 1987 in a shared flat at Nußdorferstraße 17, Riedenburg. After moving several times (Linzergasse 50 in Salzburg, Essergasse 8 in Salzburg, Brückenstraße 55 in Siezenheim, Plainstraße 27/8 Salzburg), they both moved to Hallein in the historic town centre at the end of July 2016.

Special people she knew: Artist Nikola Toplev (died in 2013 of pancreatic cancer)
