YUVAL GERSHON (LANDMAN GRISHA MAXOVITCH), 15.08.1919, Liepaya. In Palestine since 1935; before WWII - instructor in "Hagana". Fought in the British Army till the end of WWII. Later he organized the illegal emigration ("aliya") to Palestine. Helped to bring corpses of the killed British pilots to different graveyards of their homeland's soil. Fought for Israel's independence. Lieut. Colonel of the Israeli Army; first command, of the First Batt.; decorated with many orders. Died 26.3.2005.
