Dzambo Dzambidze (born in 1947) is a Georgian mafia boss and 'Thief in law'. He is a member of the "Rustavi" and "Tbilisi" criminal gangs.
Dzambidze Dzambo 'Dzhambo the Young' was born on June 29, 1947 in Rustavi, Georgia, to a Georgian-Ossetian family. He spent his childhood in Rustavi and Ordzhonikidze. In Ordzhonikidze, he met a small criminal group and joined it. However, in 1962, when the family returned to Rustavi, Dzambo Dzambidze stopped engaging in criminal activity, but returned to it in 1966, at the age of 19, under pressure from his best friend Aliko Tomanidze.
On October 10, 1969, he was arrested in Tbilisi (Article 151 of the Criminal Code of the Georgian SSR). On April 19, 1970, he was sentenced to 5 years under Article 151 of the Criminal Code of the Georgian SSR. Beginning of the term: October 10, 1969. End of the term: October 10, 1974. On May 13, 1977, he was detained in Tbilisi (Article 153, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Georgian SSR).
On August 29, 1977, the Tbilisi (Georgia) court sentenced him to 5 years under Article 153, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Georgian SSR. Start of term: May 13, 1977. End of term: May 13, 1982. In 1993, Dzambo Dzambidze and Aliko Tomanidze quarreled and the latter was killed, but in fact it turned out to be staged. In the mid-1990s, a conflict arose between Dzambo Dzambidze, who supported Grandfather Hassan, and Tariel Oniani, who was increasing his influence in the Caucasus. Since the early 1990s, he has been smuggling alcohol from Ossetia to Georgia and Europe.
On March 13, 2004, he was detained in Tbilisi, according to the operation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia to capture criminal authorities. On June 7, 2004, the court of Tbilisi (Georgia) sentenced him to 13 years under Articles 107, 109 of the Criminal Code of Georgia. Start of the term: December 4, 2004. Deadline: June 4, 2017. Since 2017, he has been living in Batumi.
At the moment, 16 murders have been confirmed in which Dzambo Dzambidze is involved, but in most cases he is acquitted.
In 1978, Dzambo Dzambidze married Amina Gamkrelidze. In the same year, Amiran Dzambidze was born, who was not associated with crime, but became a cardiac surgeon. At the end of the noughties, he created his own clinic, but in 2015 he liquidated it and moved to Moscow. In 2005, his son was born. In 1980, the couple had a daughter, Eka, who in 2006 married Georgian businessman Ali Eloiani. In 2007, their son Dzambo was born. Since 2011, the family has been living in Moscow.
